The Jimmy Pratt Foundation is proud to be one of seven charitable Foundations behind the development and release of Early Years Study 3.
This third edition of the Early Years Study documents the social, economic and scientific rationale for investing in early childhood education. It recommends that all children be entitled to an early education from the age of 2 years onward. New to this edition is the Early Childhood Education Index 2011. The Index provides information about the quality, access, financing and policy of early childhood education across Canada. As such, it informs a review of where each province is in providing care for young children and tangible goals to strengthen services.
Under the leadership of the Margret & Wallace McCain Family Foundation, the report was authored by the late Dr. Fraser Mustard, the Honorable Margret McCain Kerry McQuaig, and Jane Bertrand. It provides an interesting and informative read, not only for policy makers and educators, but for families and citizens alike.
